about

Malloc's debut EP, Louisian Stars, is about process, evolution, and decay. The project uses forty seconds of source audio contained in nine musical phrases. Through performance and constrained random processes, this material is stretched and varied until artifacts from generation loss are magnified and become featured elements of the sound design. Focus on these micro-rhythmic and melodic patterns and you will find yourself immersed in a soundscape assembled from a palette of endlessly varying musical moments.

"Louisian Stars is a fascinating foray of pieces through which time has no meaning. Dizzying loops, skips, clips and effervescent audio shadows somehow tranquilize the ears, mind and soul with a flare for spatial recreation in minimal formation." - igloomag.com
